It is some of the most difficult work there is, but decorative stuff is really a lot of fun to model. This is a part that a local company brought to me as part of a historic restoration. Because it was part of a restoration, there wasn’t any artistic license to be taken here. It had to be as similar to the original as possible. It has the classic egg-and-dart motif, with beaded edges on top and bottom. It made it more challenging that the shape had to happen around a ring. Fun to model, exciting to get right, and proud to see things like this in their native environment.
