New USGBC LEED Fellow

My wife, Kim, is an architect, as some of you know. She has been working in sustainability for the last several years, helping to assure from the design phase through commissioning that buildings are efficient to build and to keep running. Energy efficiency and the wise use of resources is a laudable goal for all of us, especially as engineers who design “stuff”. Kim’s role in this is a primary focus. Today the US Green Building Council (USGBC) announced that Kim, along with several others, has been named a LEED Fellow. Her accomplishment will be recognized at this year’s Greenbuild conference in Atlanta, Ga, on November 20th. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is all about energy efficiency and sustainable building design practice. This is of course great news, and I wish you all will join me in congratulating Kim on this significant achievement. There are fewer than 300 LEED Fellows in the world at this point, and fewer than a dozen in our home state of Virginia.

Stop in and congratulate Kim at her LinkedIn account, and see what else she is involved in.
