What’s the Best Way to Learn Solid Edge?

I hope I have your curiosity piqued at least a little bit about Solid Edge. People have been looking for the “next big thing in CAD” for some years, and it has been developing in this history/synchronous hybrid. If you’ve been wondering when the time to jump would be, I’d get started now.

So now that you’ve found this cool CAD program that uses the history-based modeling that you’re already familiar with as well as synchronous editing that allows you to do new stuff you might not have even known you were missing before, how do you get your hands on the software and learn it? I’m so glad you asked. There are several ways.

Once you’ve got your hands on the software, here are some resources for learning:

  • online help and training documentation – You can find everything here from tutorials to What’s New to searchable and linkable online help
  • YouTube –  Lots of YouTube content from several different sources.
  • SolidMastermind paid tutorials
  • Ally PLM (VAR) tutorials – this reseller does a series of webinars on various Solid Edge topics, and records them so you can watch at your convenience
  • Solid Edge Community – get answers to your questions from real users
  • Other sites listed in the upper left corner of this site

If you’ve got some additional links to your favorite place to learn or talk about Solid Edge, or even if you have a question you’d like to ask, please leave a comment.
