SolidWorks 2009 Barcelona press event: Barcelona the city
As a city, Barcelona is unique. You can’t really compare it to any US city. The history of Barcelona goes back much further than anywhere in the US, and the level of architectural creativity can’t be found anywhere.
We took an open top double decker bus around town and spent most of the morning at Antoni Gaudi’s Familia Sangrada, a church which has been under construction for over 100 years. Words do not do it justice. Nor do pictures. This must be experienced.
Truly unbelievable. Kim took the pix, so most of them came out. Not room for them here, but if you’re interested in this, check out her blog at kim327.wordpres.com. She has a Picasa gallery on this.
Color and shape in buildings from the early 1900s is unique.
And of course the stunning panarama view of the Mediterranean from Park Guell…
We spent the first part of the day with Devon Sowell who was a great sport. We did more than a little walking, but it was well worth everything to get around such a great city. This is obviously just a very small sampling of all that there is to see here. The people are great, and their english is better than my spanish. Barcelona is not just a museum for great art, architecture and medieval history, it is also a real working city, and thus has all of the pluses and minuses of a real working city.
More later today on the press conference, and the SolidWorks 2009 release.
Removing the little down arrows from right click Menus – There is a way to get rid of them and Matt covered during the Tips & Tricks presentation in Columbia, SC.
I can’t seem to locate my notes on how it was done. Matt? Anyone??
