Wish List anyone?
Did you ever wish SolidWorks were a little more transparent and a little less like an information black hole? Did you ever wish that everyone could see everyone elses enhancement requests? Did you ever wonder who it was that really asked that SolidWorks drop the interface and put it back together like the chips on a Scrabble board? Do you remember once upon a time when someone used to administer a Wish List which allowed you to post your SolidWorks wish, and then allowed other people to vote on it?
Your time has come. Ben Eadie must have a lot of time on his hands with all of the web programming he’s been doing.\n\nIn case you haven’t heard, Ben has made some changes to the SolidMentor site again. These include the addition of the Wish List, my personal favorite. Post your enhancement requests, and vote on other people’s enhancements. Its as easy as that. Now you’ll know who to blame when SW puts a zero radius fillet function in the software, or starts enhancing the command line.
You can also read the site without signing in, you only need to sign in to post. Very nice. You can even read all of the SolidWorks blogs from the SolidMentor site.
Check it out, this is home grown stuff, without any silly corporate nonsense, created by somebody like the rest of us except a lot better at web programming.
Also, Ben has 2 SolidWorks Bibles to give away for free for people who are a couple of magic numbers when signing up. You’ll have to go check the site to see which numbers they are.
You at least need to check out the site, and say hi while you’re there.
