Final Mastering SolidWorks Book Submissions
Yesterday I made my final submissions for the book. These were the 1 gb of downloadable sample data material and 900 mb of mp4 movies (intros for each of the 39 chapters – and those are zipped sizes). The image files and text files were 420 mb. I’m not sure if the downloads are going to be all one shot, or by chapter, or sample files separate from videos, or just exactly what’s going to happen with all of that. They did say that the Wiley site for the book will be active on Nov 5.
This project has taken over a year to complete for various reasons (a combination of my schedule and Wiley’s schedules not lining up). I’m very relieved to be nearing the finished product. This will likely be the last project I do with Wiley, but I can see creating some additional materials. One of the things I was thinking of was doing complete 100% walk-through demos on some more complex models that shows the modeling, decision making process, and troubleshooting for each feature. People want to see step-by-step, but they really need to learn decision making processes and evaluation tools, so I think this format will allow me to combine those goals effectively.
Plus, I think this blog is taking more of a turn toward CAD Admin or design technology management, and I may have some things to say about that.
Great news, Matt. I hope you will get several books to sell directly to your fans.
I am sure an autographed book would be a treasure for any SW user.
Correct.
