Novedge Interview
Novedge is a company that sells graphics and CAD software. Lots of it. I’m not here as a corporate advertising shill, though.
Novedge also runs a blog which is informative and interesting reading. They have done interviews with a bunch of CEOs of the software they sell. It’s interesting to hear people talk about some of the products that are periferal to SolidWorks, like Rhino, Maxon (Cinema 4D), Alibre, Next Limit (Maxwell), Adobe (Acrobat 3D). It’s good to know about these tools when you run into fucntionality which is missing in SW.
Strange as it is, along with all of these CEOs and high-powered button-down types, their most recent interview is with me! You’ll recognize some themes in the interview from this blog. You may also recognize that Novedge has made the SW2007 Bible their book of the month! Thanks guys.
So why am I promoting the Novedge blog? Is it just a lot of commercial back-patting or is it something more? I like to think it has to do with content. I have enjoyed the high level interviewsthey have conducted and some of the other useful info on the blog concerning software tools that interest me. I’ve had them bookmarked for some time now, and was flattered when they approached me for an interview. I think it is commendable when a commercial entity gives a little back to the world around them with meaningful, original and free content.
