Surfacing Episode Site: Body Management
There have been a couple of chapters in my in-progress subscription site that have just kind of stood out. The Splines chapter has been one of them, and the Body Management is turning out to be another one. Just as a shameless reminder, you can sign up for early access with an introductory subscription for 1 year.
Sign up here and read through the table of contents at the bottom of the page. The ones in bold are the chapters that are complete at this time. I’m hoping to have this done by the end of the year. At that point the price is going to go up.
If you’re doing surfacing in SolidWorks, you need to know about body management. This chapter covers solids and surfaces, and it covers all of the master model techniques, with a chart that summarizes the differences between Split, Save Bodies, Insert Part and Insert Into New Part. How do you control colors? What do you need to know about how body names work? Need a guide to the Intersect feature?
This Episode chapter has more info on this topic than any of the Bible books I have written, with all new material. New models (with links in the text), new research, new text, new step-by-steps, and new videos. This chapter has over 7000 words and over 60 images, which is about the equivalent of 35 pages in a book. I made several professional quality models specifically for this site, including a plastic bottle, a decorative finial, a rubber ducky, a simple mold, and others.
