New Solid Edge Videos Available

Here are some new Solid Edge videos to cover basic topics that people switching software might have questions about. I made 16 short videos that I hope you will find answer questions about how Solid Edge works. The topics range from File Types and Templates to creating Family of Assemblies. I made the videos from the point of view of a Solidworks user. The videos are all on my YouTube channel, in the Solid Edge playlist.

I encourage you to stop by and leave a comment, or ask a question. Solid Edge hired me to make the videos and provided me with a license of the software for that purpose, but since then I have signed up for the Community Edition, which is free, with some limitations.

  1. @Ronan It takes a while to get used to it, and to learn where the buttons are. But I can honestly say that in most areas the SE interface is much smoother and flows better than SWX. (Six months ago I would have told you the opposite.) Exceptions are exploded views and some drafting edit commands.

  2. Nice set of videos. They really do explain the basic concepts and differences to SW very well. I must admit it is taking me a good bit of time to get used to the SE interface. Still the community edition is great for learning on.
